Hey, I’m Frankie.
Me in three words: Christian. Introvert. Cactus.
…Fail. I don’t think those words cover everything. So here’s a longer description: I’m an introverted, born-again “human Christian” (read the blog to find out what that means) who works in brand marketing, likes writing songs, and likes cats. I’m not a particularly good writer, I think–I abuse commas and em dashes and tend to digress mid-sentence; basically I write how I talk–but somehow I feel compelled to publish online, often in real time, the minutiae of my life. Maybe it’s posterity. Maybe I’m just attention-seeking.
(It’s probably a bit of both.)
I’ve been blogging since I was twelve years old, thanks to an article in a men’s lifestyle magazine (I was bored, it was lying in the lobby of my mum’s office, and did I mention I’ll read practically anything? I’ll read practically anything.) on blogger Emma Story.
I come from Metro Manila, Philippines, and if you don’t know where that is…don’t worry, a lot of people don’t. I’m Filipino, but I look “foreign” to most people here because of my mixed Chinese, Filipino, and Spanish descent.
What I love to do.
I love to tell stories. Sometimes that means in-person rambling over chat or video call. Sometimes that means live vlogs on Facebook. Sometimes…that’s something else. A list of my something else-s include: fiction (I’ve written a children’s book called Nadia and The Blue Stars, which you can read online for free here.), music (I’m on Spotify!), taking photos (I’m not great at it but I keep two Instagram accounts: a rinsta and a more photo-based finsta), fashion (yet another IG account), and marketing strategy (no links here; I try to keep this blog as separate as possible from my work life).
A few more random facts.
I own a cherry-red Takamine EG440C-STRQ named Elinor, a Kala tenor ukulele named Teddy (originally Henry, but my cousin wanted to add “Theodore” and the nickname kind of stuck), and a Stagg Telecaster named “Sugar” (for “Sugar Glider,” it also goes by “J” sometimes because it was gifted to me secondhand from my friend AJ, who still owns its twin).
My brain is a Wikipedia-like depository of weird and/or interesting but useless facts.
When I was in kindergarten, I was misdiagnosed as having ADHD.
I often show up to work (or life, really) dressed as an 80s does Victorian/Edwardian Vampire. Or a mild-mannered vintage librarian with a witchy streak. Or a KPop idol (both off and on duty versions). Or a forties/fifties college girl.
The jury’s still out as to whether or not I’m actually a sitcom character.
Where to find me.
While I’m usually homestuck in Metro Manila, occasionally I do travel (either physically or in my head). Here are a few places other where you can keep track of my (mis)adventures.
