Starved

A child is not starved when there is
No meat,
No bread,
No milk.
He is not hungry when there is
No fish,
No fruit,
No fowl.
His table may be empty, but a child can go without
Soup, or
Stew;
Grains, or
Greens.
All these are mere trifling things.

A child is not starved when there is no food.
A child is starved when there is no love.

(Bad poetry, yes. Just some thoughts.)
